Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The family of Slamet Juari, one Indonesian citizen held hostage by pirates in Somalia, calling on President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to join members of his family's release.
"Yesterday I sent a letter to Mr. President SBY. I ask that he intervene, "said Yuni Astuti, Slamet Juari wife, told AFP Friday.
Earlier, during the day earlier, a daughter they named Rezky Judiana Detika Syaranie, send electronic mail to several media, including ABC News, on request of their families to the President to follow his father's release.
According Rezky, his father worked for PT Samudera Indonesia, and held hostage by pirates in waters off Somalia, when going towards the Red Sea with the ultimate aim Netherlands.
Both Rezky and Yuni said that the last time they were contacted by Slamet a few days ago.
"You said 'I am safe and secure," said Rezky by telephone.
Recognition Rezky seirima with information submitted by his mother, Yuni Astuti, who also said her husband is always preaching that he was in good condition.
But, as Yuni, as a wife she remained very worried about her husband's condition.

Slamet Juari (42), with 19 crew of a ship of PT Samudera Indonesia, reportedly held hostage by Somali pirates.
From the narrative Yuni Astuti, based on recent testimony of her husband, the citizen is taken hostage in their own ships.
Rezy revealed that her father and 19 crew had become victims of hostage-month Somali pirates since March 16, 2011.
"Until now they were still in the midst of the waters with food supplies running low. I just want a policy of Indonesia to free his father and his 19 crew, "said Rezky in electronic mail to Reuters.
Rizki criticized the government which he called slow handling of this hostage crisis, while Yuni Astuti revealed no release of hostage negotiations tough and every time change, especially with regard to ransom.
