Improving the Business World of North Sumatra

Medan , 8 / 4 (Xinhua) - The loan to deposit ratio (Loan to Deposit Ratio) banking North Sumatra which has an increasing trend that reached 82.35 percent in February 2011 is one indication of the improving business climate in the area.

"LDR 82.35 percent because of Deposits (third party funds), banks collected as much as Rp110, 56 trillion, the amount of loans reached Rp91, 05 trillion," said the leader of the BI Regional North Sumatra -Aceh, Nasser Atorf, in Medan , on Friday .

Raising deposits which amounted to Rp110, 56 trillion itself rose 1.37 percent compared to the position in December 2010.

With the increase in LDR was expected economic growth in North Sumatra which is targeted at 6.5 to 7 percent this year could be achieved.

"Absorption expected credit greater following the declining trend in bank lending rates," he said.
