Chris ‘The Dragon’ John and Daud ‘The Stone’ Yordan are battling it out for the WBA super world featherweight champion at hall D of the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
This is first time two Indonesians are fighting for the WBA super world featherweight championship in home soil.
Daud Yordan, 23, is placed 6th in the WBA ranking. He grabbed attention last December by knocking out Argentine Damian David Marchiano in the first 19 seconds of the first round.
Chris John, 31, has held the WBA super world featherweight title since 2003. He has won 43 and drew 2 of his 45 bouts, his last fight being a victory over Argentine Fernando David Saucedo through unanimous decision in December 2010.
As a warm up to the big showdown, promoters staged a celebrity boxing match between Raffi Ahmad and Mario Lawalata. The fight ended in a draw.
