I’m thinking of moving to Abu Dhabi in a few months. I’m well aware of the local laws regarding use of drugs, and wouldn’t dream of either trying to bring them into the country or using them when I’m there. However, I smoke a little weed at home in Canada, and I’ve read online that there’s a possibility of being tested on arrival – and, if the tests show positive, being jailed for four years. I posted a similar question to this a few hours ago, and got a reply that indicated the penalty for drug use IN Abu Dhabi is death. But that wasn’t my question – that simply won’t happen.. All I’m concerned about is finding myself behind bars (or worse) for a joint I might have smoked days or weeks before I arrived in the country. Anyone know if this really is a possibility?
