Russian Muslim students deepen the Study of Islam in Indonesia

London (ANTARA News) - As many as 27 students to deepen Russia's Muslim Islamic studies at various state Islamic universities in Indonesia, such as the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and Yogyakarta, UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

He said the students arrived in Indonesia on Saturday, came from various regions in Russia, namely Moscow, Kazan, Tatarstan, Grozny, Chechnya and Makhachkala, Dagestan.

They take a variety of both undergraduate education program (S-1), master (S-2) and doctorate (S-3) in a variety of majors or specialties, such as sharia, Islamic economics and recitations.

In a meeting with students at Embassy in Moscow terebut day before departure to Indonesia, Russian Federation Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus and concurrent appreciation to students who have the determination to study Islam in Indonesia.

Abdul Djamil, Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Komaruddin Hidayat, Chairman of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Dr. KH Shukri Zarkasyi, and Prof. Dr. Philip K. Wijaya, China and Walubi Ethnic Representative, and Alberd Pardede, IDP Setditjen Subsection Head of Planning, Foreign Ministry.

In addition, there were also Indira Khayretdinova of Overseas Education Cooperation Russian Mufti Council, Khamzat Khirokhmatov, Deputy Mufti of the Republic of Chechnya and Mukhammad-Arif Darvishov of the International Institute of Theology and Hububungan Makhachkala, Dagestan.

According to Prof. Dr. Komaruddin Hidayat, Indonesia is one place that can help them learn to deepen Islamic studies.

Indonesia and Russia are the countries are equally multi-ethnic and multi religious. Education obtained great benefit to students themselves and society at large by promoting tolerance among others, said Prof.. Dr. Komaruddin Hidayat.

Meanwhile, Mukhammad-Arif Darvishov express high appreciation to the Indonesian government which has given opportunity to Russian Muslim students studying in Indonesia.

"We are very pleased that our students are studying in Indonesia is currently fine. With the delivery of new students are expected to be closer relations between people of both nations "said Mukhammad-Arif.

Added knowledge about Indonesia, development thinking and practice of Islam in Indonesia has become an important base for the study. Indonesia familiar with the internal religious tolerance and inter-religious.

Delivery Muslim students in 2011 was the second time, after the year 2010 as many as 10 Russian Muslim students of Islamic studies at UIN deepen Malang.

This cooperation is one of the implementation of cooperation among Islamic universities in Russia and Indonesia, signed in late 2009 and then as Rector of the Russian Islamic University, Islamic University and the Moscow International Relations Institute of Theology and Makhachkala visiting Indonesia.

Along with the arrival of Muslim students of the Russian delegation, will arrive also eight Russian economic and banking specialists who will do the learning Islamic banking at Bank Muamalat Indonesia on 11 to 20 June next.

They come from Gazprombak, investment Logistic Group "Safinat", Islamic University of Russia, Bank Express, Hazina Finance, Association of credit organizations of Bashkortostan and the Russian Mufti Council.
