KUALA LUMPUR - Google Inc. (Google) are now looking for local workers who are analytical and intelligent in many areas to complement the commitment to expand its international business by opening new operations in Kuala Lumpur.

At this time, Google has over 60 offices worldwide, including in Singapore, which was opened four years ago.

According to Google's Southeast Asia managing director, Julian Persaud, the quality of local talent will help Google users get the information required, at the same time contributing in the development of local businesses.

"Opening this office is a move to our advertising services platform, web services and Google's leading search experience for consumers, advertisers and business partners in Malaysia.

"It is part of Google's expanding investments in the region, in addition to ongoing efforts to provide local products that simplify their lives, such as Google Maps, Google News and Google Translate," he said.

He was speaking at a ceremony to announce the opening of the Google offices in Southeast Asia yesterday.

Also present were Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir of Malaysia and Business Head, Sajith Sivanandan.
