I have to admit, I type that title with a heavy heart, not really looking forward to focusing on the topic of cancer this month.
No, I haven't been directly affected by cancer (fingers and paws crossed that life continues that way) but so many pet parents have experienced the agony of the dreaded cancer diagnosis, I always have trouble with this one.
On a slightly positive note, I am happy to say that I discovered when I was checking some prior claims for cancer, that Maggie, a 5 year old Dachshund living in Interlochen MI is doing well enough after extensive treatment for a B Cell Metoplasm at age 2 to have dental disease that needs treatment. Not that I'm happy about the dental disease but that's she's alive and well otherwise. That's a nice win for Maggie.
So let's discuss some of the ups and downs of cancer this month. Let's celebrate the ups and mourn the downs, and learn something about how cancer affects the lives of our dogs and cats.
