Grave of the Fireflies tells story about Seita and his younger sister Setsuko, who must survive at the end of World War II because they were orphaned after their mother died from air attacks and his father a navy soldier unaccounted for after Japan surrendered to the Allies. After their mother died, Seita must struggle to find some food for himself and his sister Setsuko to survive. Until they finally rest in peace because Seita no longer able to find some food.
Grave of the Fireflies (Hotaru no Haka) which is the 1988 animated drama film written and directed by Isao Takahata is the animated film adaptation of a semi-autobiographical novel titled Grave of the Fireflies written by Akiyuki Nosaka.
