Ankara (AFP) - Turkey has offered to "guarantee" on Muamer Gaddafi in return for his departure from Libya, but the country has not received a response from the Libyan leader, said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday.
Gaddafi "has no choice but to leave Libya - with the guarantee will be given to him ... We had given him this assurance. We've told him we would help him to be sent to wherever he wanted to go, "Erdogan said on NTV television, without specifically mentioning what the required security.
"Depending on the answers we would get from him, we'll talk about it with our allies (NATO), but unfortunately, we have not received an answer so far," he said. (S008/K004)
