Sultan Bashiruddin Muslims from Pakistan Nuclear Expert

Muslim world not only able to create a series of leading scientists in the golden age. Even in the modern era, the Islamic world have so many important scientists, the gait and dedication has been recognized worldwide.
One of the important scientists who owned Muslims in modern times is the Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood. He was a nuclear expert from Pakistan. Shiruddin Ba was born in 1938 in Amratsar, India. When he was nine years old, he and his family moved to Pa Pakistani after the country reached independence from Britain in 1947.

Bashiruddin comes from a family dispossessed. His father was just a poor social worker in Lahore, Pakistan. Poverty does not make her neglectful father to his son's education. Earning a mediocre, his father send Bashiruddin with a vengeance.

Support and encouragement of his father Bashiruddin not wasted. Since young, he is quite a child smart. Bashiruddin very interested in the world of knowledge. He is different from other children who are less concerned with education.

He was even willing to walk without wearing shoes berkilokilo meters toward the school, in pursuit citacitanya become a scientist. Seeing learning yang buoyant spirit, her father was sending Bashiruddin in the School of Government Lahore - the best schools in those days.

Thanks to the extraordinary intelligence, Bashiruddin also received a scholarship from the government and could continue her studies at the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore. After complete pendidikannnya in the study program of Electrical Engineering, early 1960, Bashiruddin joined Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC).

Then he got a master's degree Nuclear Engineering from The University of Manchester, England. He continued to hone his skills in the field of Nuclear Engineering (Nuclear Engineering) by continuing his studies at the Nuclear Technology Consortium Eduaction in Manchester.

Bashiruddin saw the potential and intelligence, the British government asked him to work in the country with various lucrative offers. However, such a high kecintanannya to Pakistan, a variety of attractive offers that were rejected. He decided to return to his country and dedicate themselves working at PAEC.

In early 1970, Bashiruddin managed to find a tool to detect heavy water leaks or water leaks on a nuclear development facility called Probe SBM (SBM is an abbreviation of its name). Leakage of heavy water is a problem that often occurs in the developer's nuclear facilities around the world.

Findings in the world of nuclear are very influential on his career. In fact, his invention is still used by the developers of the nuclear states at this time. In 1974, he became Director of the uranium enrichment project under PAEC at the request of the Pakistani government.

Later, he built a laboratory to produce Low-Enriched Uranium (LEU) or Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU). He also designed and established the Nuclear Fuel Factory. Later he became director general of the Nuclear Power of PAEC from 1996 to 1998.

Bashiruddin ambitions to enrich uranium fueled nuclear launch India's action in 1974. He sees it as a threat to his country, Pakistan. Bashiruddin known as a very nationalistic. So he does not let his country faces security threats from other countries.

Bashiruddin see genius in the nuclear field, it seems Western countries began to feel frightened. Even the U.S. government under the leadership of George W. Bush pointed at helping the Taliban in making nuclear bombs. And the CIA clearly stated that he was not involved with Al Qaeda network.

After retiring from his position as Director General of the Nuclear Power of PAEC, Bashiruddin dedicated himself in the humanitarian field such as procurement of food, health, and education, but the Bush administration is not a disbelief.

In late 2001, he was arrested at a house in Islamabad for 53 days by Pakistani Intelligence Agencies Pa at the request of the United States. While detained, he was questioned by agents of the CIA repeatedly.

Even his son, Dr. Asim Mahmood, a neurosurgeon at the Hospital Sir Ganga Ram, Pakistan joined the CIA explained that his father (Bashiruddin) was once asked by Osama Bin Laden to make nuclear bombs, but he balked at the request.

Making a nuclear bomb''was not easy, you need a lot of money and a great institution. You'd better forget it. I will not make nuclear bombs. Moreover pe Pakistani government will not kai likes it,''said Bashirudin.

During his detention, the CIA and Pakistani Intelligence Agencies found no evidence of involvement with Al-Qaeda Bashirudin. He was no evidence helped create Al-Qaeda's Weapon of Mass distruction (WMD).

Allegations addressed to Nashiruddin was sparked fears of Western countries, primarily America's ability to create nuclear weapons. Finally in 2001 cracked De Bashirudin could breathe free air. In 2002, she lived in her house in Islamabad with his wife, his son, also cu cunya enjoy a peaceful life.

Thanks to the dedication and devotion, Bashirudidn awarded numerous awards from both within and outside the country. Government of Pakistan to somebody gerahinya Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Ex cellence) for his contributions to science and nuclear physics in 1998.

Sitara-i-Imtiaz is an award given Pakis tan government for its citizens who have contributed in the fields of literature, art, medicine, and science. The award is usually given during the independence day of Pakistan.

In 1998, he also received his gold medal from the Pakistan Academy of Sciences for his contributions to science. Moreover, science was useful for the prosperity of mankind. In the same year, he also gets U.S. gold medal from the U.S. Institute of Historical Biographies.

Indeed, it has a two-sided nuclear positive or negative, depending on how humans use it. As long as nuclear energy is used for positive things like the development of nuclear power that does not matter. However, it nu klir would be fatal if used to attack other countries in the world.
